Muskoka’s Best Farmers Market in Gravenhurst, Ontario

I LOVE visiting Farmers’ Markets, each one, including the awesome Hamilton Farmer’s Market, offers something different and unique.

In the Muskoka region, Farmers’ Markets rotate each day of the week.  Gravenhurst, Ontario is lucky enough to have a huge market every Wednesday from 9-2.  There you will find everything from honey, fruits and vegetables, arts and crafts, olive oil, prepared foods…the list goes on.  The market is located across the street from the wharf.

By far one of the busiest vendors is the lady selling her amazing baked goods but specifically her butter tarts.  They sell out fast (I was too late to get mine) but her other treats are delicious.  She doesn’t even have a banner with her name so just follow the line up!

There are so many different vendors at the market.  Kelly Burmeister of Muskoka Twig is a staple at most of the Muskoka Farmers’ Markets with her unique personalized pictures.

You can choose the words you would like for your picture or let Kelly pick out most of them and you can just add some personal touches.  Very cool!

I had an interesting experience last year at the very same market.  One of the vendors, Saigon Soul Food, sells the most amazing home made spring rolls.  When I got home I googled the business only to find out that the business is located in Hamilton, Ontario on James St. South!  Now I can get my fix when the mood strikes and right in my home town.  You should check them out!

If you find yourself in the Muskoka Region this summer, I highly recommend visiting the local markets.  The market is in Bala on Mondays, Dwight on Tuesdays, Wednesdays in Gravenhurst, Thursdays in Huntsville and Port Carling, Fridays in Rosseau and Saturdays in Bracebridge.  Each one is just a little bit different!
